I’ve had a passion for libraries since 2006. It started when I was a freshman in high school with a passion for reading (cheesy? yes, I know…). It wasn’t until after the week of my high school graduation (2010) that I started working in public libraries. I started working as a Library Aide for four and a half years. It helped me pay for the necessities; gas, textbooks, food, and MORE food. After college, I decided to continue my work in libraries and got promoted to LIbrary Assistant in 2014. I finally had a chance to do reference work and actually assist patrons with information literacy. My passion only continued to grow. In wasn’t until December 2015, I decided to apply for graduate school. I applied to the University of Southern California’s Masters of Management in Library and Information Science. I worked full-time and studied full-time. It was a rough two years, but somehow I got through it. As human beings, it’s incredible how much stress we can put our bodies through. I’m still trying to learn the concept of self-care. It’s one of my goals for 2019 (ha, we will see how long that’ll last).
In my spare time, I enjoy cuddling with my two fur-babies and watching anime classics with the hubs.
